You shouldn't worry too much about how much power your running. As long as you're running your car at regular listening volumes (non-SPL), you're actually gonna be using only a very small fraction of what you've got. Instead of actually pushing out like 1500wrms, at normal listening volumes, you'll be having more like 100wrms.


In my current setup, i've got about 1700wrms, and no alternator problems. Mainly because of the fact that i'm not bumping my sounds 24/7. Just upgrade you're alternator cables, and battery cables.. you'll be set

W3rd! Ren is spot on. The best thing you can do for your power supply IMO is to upgrade you alternator cables to a high guage cable. I'm using 4 guage cables currently and my headlighs never dim no matter the volume. This will help much more than a capacitator and will cost less, it's just alot of work to run the wire, especially if it needs heat shielding along the way.
