First of all, it is a "little home made". The thing's been banged out by one guy in his shop over and over by hand to get the correct dimensions and all. The final unit will be manufactured in a more conventional manner. What you're seeing is running prototype #2. We never expected these to look perfect until they were available for purchase.

Shorter does not necessarily equal better performance. The reason is that, while the CTA is prettier (for now) and the path of air is shorter, you're still pulling warmer air from the engine bay. The filter on the StreetFlight unit sits just behind the driver's side foglight housing. In fact, length has been a huge part of this design. We tested several lengths and eventually narrowed it down to exactly what it is now.

The material it's constructed of is steel (I don't remember the exact grade) and is less affected by heatsoak. Plus, it's strong as an ox.

I wish someone here had a CTA I could use on the dyno to do a comparison. I'm 100% confident you'll see better gains than with the CTA.

Red = stock with home-gutted OEM airbox
Blue = StreetFlight CAI
