I'm looking to get some new rotors - KVR Gas-Slotted.

I have questions regarding the cadmium plating option. Look here. I was thinking of having them done in silver. Is it worth the extra $28.00?

Thanks in advance.

The rotor (other than the friction face) will look better longer if you have it plated. It will not rust nearly as soon. I think it is worth it. Some, however, believe that you would be just as well of to paint the rotor with some high temp paint.

I have the KVR cross-drilled rotors with silver-cadmium plating. Yes, they look good. But don't get the cross-drilled. After 6 months they are already stoarting to get spider cracks. Get the slotted rotors w/silver cadmium plating. You'll be better off. (Cross-drilled is only aesthetic/cosmetic anymore.)

I have a fullsize picture, but nowhere to host it. Email me if you want the fullsize pic and others.

Well, I used the hi-temp on my new rotors, and it is a cheaper option, but somewhat of a pain in the butt. I'm not really happy with the rears as I tried to mask off a swath where the pads would make contact. Since I had to change the rear pads right away, I didn't really have a choice. Anyway, it's next to impossible to keep this looking good, as it's too hard to get the masking just right.

My plan for the fronts is to put another coat of paint on them, and use the old pads to burnish/condition the rotors before I put the new pads on. I hope that works better.
