Well, being cheap, I've been driving Calgary roads, even after some major snowfalls for a few weeks now without switching to winter tires. The BFs will spin very easily in snow or on ice, but stopping is OK. Watch out for steep hills, you may have to turn around. But, as with any snow driving, whether with snow tires or not, slow down enough and you'll only have to worry about the other guys.

Ditto. Been there, done that and I'll NEVER do it again. Pretty damn scary experience. They absolutely suck from a standing start in slush/snow and forget about taking any sort of corner at anything above a snails pace.

There's a reason my stock E1 rims have Michelin Pilot Alpine's on them now...
