are you talking about the Mass air flow sensor on top of the intake tube? The worst that will do is cuase your check engine light to come on, it is probably just shorted, and there fore acts like it not even there...either way...its probably just a sensor and wont hurt a thing. Just buy some heat shrink tubing, snip the wires, slide some heat shrink on one side, splice the wires back together (if yu have 'skilz', you'd solder the joint to be safe), slide the heatshirink over the joint and blow it with a blow drier untill it shrinks . i'd also cover up the wires with some more tape, or better yet... WIRE LOOM! Good luck...
