Its funny. You can take a vintage street with same era running gear and they won't say a thing. You can put a newer FI drivetrain in your rod and still get in. You'll have a few people wondering how you got the fuel injection gods to agree with you too. BUT, if you take a new rod, with a new drivetrain to the event they make you park it in the parking lot.
The Prowler is a neat car though, especially when it has the matching trailer. Its just a status symbol though, like the new Porsche SUV.
A red `32 Ford pickup, with a flathead V8, lowered stance, and whitewalls is still a vehicle that I dream of. The weird thing. If I could have any vehicle in the world (but I couldn't sell/trade it) I would take that. Granted it would have some intresting goodies in it to make it a little more modern, like IFS, disc brakes, and power steering.
