Just a general question about the electricity going through these Duratec alternators. I had mine rebuilt for about $150...needed a new transistor, and two other parts I couldnt even pronounce. The guy said he had to RESOLDER the connections to the alternator again cause I melted it so bad. I feel kind of proud in a way. I'm only running a small Legacy Audio amp that only puts out about 80watts RMS. I don't currently have a fuse on the power cable from the battery to the amp. But I also have 9mm Ford Motorsport wires going to Bosch Platinum +4s. So I was wondering, since my sparks are being driven by high performance parts, does that put a damaging amount of strain on the Duratec alternators? Thanks guys.
