starting to install LIM last night on my 97 tour sport it thas return syle injection but, I thought that all I had to was swap my injectors and fuel rail to the new LIM they are so different that I can't figure out how to do this. the stock injectors use a donut cone like seal and the stock LIM has a larger seating surfaxce for the seal. the SVT/ST200 and smaller injector that has o-ring seals.

Am I missing something, help!!!!!

You need to swap in a '98-'99 return fuel rail and injectors to use the new lower. The '95-'97 rail and injectors are the unpopular side feed style, which are not able to be used on the new LIM. You will also need to lengthen your fuel lines a couple inches to reach the '98-'99 style return rail.

If you have an extra one cheap let me know I blew all my money on the UIM, LIM, BAT Y-pipe, and cold air intake system

Boring your stock one will cost more than buying a used one from http://www.car-part.com.

does anybody have a picture of 98-99 fuel rail. I called a dealer today they said that the fuel rail is the same untill 5/99 but the injector changes in 98. so now I am real lost.

Do not beleive the parts guy, the book is wrong.!

The books list the 97's as having the top feed fuel injectors and rail, but obviously we do not. Probably because all (mostly all?) 97's were actually built at the end of 96. So if the parts guy looked at 96 he would see the "old" rail we have - anyway just tell him you want a fuel rail for a 98 and you are guranteed to get the right thing to do a top feed conversion (I forget exactly, but the rail was less than 80 from fordpartsonline).

If you also need new injectors, it'd probably be cheaper to go to car-part.com

So with the mods I already have (UIM, LIM, cold air system with larger pipe to replace rubber air hose and a BAT Y-pipe) and I get a chip can I use the 19lbs injectors.
So fellow CEGā??r what do you all think if you all think it's a go Iā??ll just order a new fuel rail and use the 19 lbs injector they will fit right in to my future plans (the poor mans turbo project)
the part I got is F7RZ-9F792-BC IS IT THE RIGHT PART #

If your 19# injectors are the "pencil" style from a returnless system then the connector is different from ours. I think airknight rewired his 95 harness to use that style connector on his 3.0 so it can be done. I used mustang injectors that had the same connector as ours so didn't have to do this.

For your email question - I just sliced off the nylon lines from the quick connects and the metal fuel line back by the wheel well and replaced it with goodyear fuel injection hose clamped down with rolled edge EFI hose clamps.

My fuel trim is more or less normal without any MAF or PCM tweaking - but I was running high positive trim before the swap, results will vary........
