Hi Pascal,

it´s soooo good to hear that from you. Thank you! Everytime I see your former Contour, I´m gettin a biiiig smile on my face. You really did a perfect job to her..... Hope you´ll have a tour again, sooner or later. Would be cool to have you back in here!

P.S. Also check out my Mondeo Slide show. It´s awesome, too...

If you'd like to speak to Julie, just call our house!

Thanks for the comment on the Dub.. The hardware is solid on that car. I'm sorry to say it's MUCH more fun to drive than the SVT ever was, regardless of what I had done to my SVT. Heh, I tried!

You're right, handling is comparable, braking isn't!! My GTI's brake kit is much stronger than the Baer kit was, and the driving position, outward visibility and controls just make the car SO much easier to drive fast. I can actually sit "up" while wearing a helmet without having to drive with my head cocked to the side for a lack of headroom... oh, there's the engine too.. 19lbs of boost at 2800rpm makes for a quick car.

I have this test street back home.. The SVT would get to 75mph and then stop (ABS all the way) just in time for my marker. Well the GTI makes it to 100mph there, and still makes the stop to my mark. It's a very different car.

I'm eagerly awaiting next summer to put it through its paces on a racetrack, where I can really explore the limits... cuz it's a little too crazy for the street.

It's no match for my SVT's poise, look and sound on the street or track though. SVTs are SO sexy.. an emotion I don't get when looking at a Dub. The Dub is more austere.. purposeful, but not sexy. I miss the looks.. a LOT!! Oh well...
