What should I be looking at as far as installed by a dealer? It's damn cold out and I think I'm done working on my own car for the month...

well to answer my own question, about $390 then $60 for an alignment (badly needed) and some more money for some other shite. I hate it. I wish it wasn't so cold. I don't want to spend $500 on my car, but I just did. Anyone wanna give me a cookie?

well, actually the price for the allignment is cheaper than a few places I have checked. Unfortunatelly I haven't had good luck anywhere BUT the ford dealer with some things on my car in the good old MKG, one even went so far as to call my car an import (made by mazda he claims).

I went to Pep Boys and had it done for about $250, and they put in a Ford alt.

No, I tested it there. Dealer wanted near $400.

Well the dealer raped me, installed a new alternator in my car and what do you know, the batt. light came back on within 2 blocks! Where is the main fuse associated with the alternator on a 6 cyl?

Not sure where the fuse is... But, did you simply tell the stealership to install an alternator for you to fix the problem, or did they diagnose the problem and tell you that the alternator would fix it? If they diagnosed it for you, take it back to them and tell them you still have problems with it.

well, both, I went in and said, I think there is a problem with my alternator, and they did some testing and said, "there is a problem with your alternator," but yes, I'm going back in the morning.
