I would replace the o2's without worrying about the codes. Unplug your batter for 10
minutes and it'll clear the codes out.
Your cat is designed to deal with "hyrdocarbons" or commonly called gas. Unless you just pour it straight down into them, the little amount your engine emits will not harm a cat.
My o2's were replaced a long time ago and haven't gone back on since.
