I just think that my car is quite easy to drive smoothly.
I've only been a licenced driver for 11 years, but all my cars have been manny-trannies, and of the lot (1 VW, 1 Subaru, 1 Toyota, 2 Fords), the SVT has so far been the smoothest to drive.
Maybe there are cars out there that have even sweeter clutch take-up and rifle-bolt precise gearbox action with little effort, though good feel. Just haven't driven any yet.

I'm willing to put up $100 that says a monkey couldn't drive your SVT.

Er, while I love the car overall, I think the CSVT's gearbox is clunky as hell. Ever driven a manual BMW, or even a Honda? Best of all is MTX Hondas and Bimmers have gearboxes whose covers sit depressed enough that you can keep toll change in 'em. --T.J.

Well as far as I know. Always shifting without the cluth will screw your syncronizer up.

If you do not have the throttle hang fix you can get exactly what you describe in your post. Easing the clutch out more slowly helps. If you speed shift the car deffinatly jerks forward, especially on the 1-2 shift.

if 3rd doesn't go in right, try holding it in neutral for a very quick pause before going up to 3rd. i find it catches better sometimes vs. pushing it from 2nd all the way into 3rd. or u can doubleclutch it. go from 2nd to neutral and let off the clutch. press it again and then shift into 3rd.
so where can i get more infor on shift matching.

Driving my SVT is a breeze....after i get out my work truck Try making 30 plus deliveries a day in a 1975 International. The dang stick is about 2 feet long, and using the clutch pedal is kinda like trying to move a refrigerastor with your ankle! I think my left calf is about twice as big as my right because of this DANG truck

Go drive a Miata. Especially a later first-generation one, say a nice '96 or '97. Perfect feel, highly precise, and smooth, easy clutch take-up. I find Honda's MTXs lack feel and the BMWs generally have clutches that are too heavy for my taste. The CSVT's MTX is pretty decent, but it doesn't have great precision (I have to hunt for gears from time to time). The clutch isn't very communicative either IMHO. I have a bitch of a time being smooth with the 1-2 upshift, though I think poly in the front motor mount would help that a lot. Scott
