The remote barely opens the trunk [one in 5 trys]
Any HELP outhere ?

I've had problems numerous times with that. When my SVT was still under warranty, Ford just replaced the trunk release. I am currently going through the same problems again. Dealership tried to make an adjustment but it didn't help much. I still have to lift up on the trunk lid while pressing the release button. My uncle's Contour has the same problem as well!

If your remote is actually working the solenoid release, and the trunk lid is simply not popping up to release from the latch then there is a solution. It's a small spring that, when installed, helps overcome the spoiler weight. Normally the compression of the trunk weather seal and its subsequent expansion is what allows the trunk latch to release. Spoiler weight seems to overcome this upward force, so the spring provides more, available from Ford for a couple of bucks and screw mounts to trunk lid.

Push the button ,hear the solenoid, pull up but no release
After ~5 times ,may release
Also release from inside does not work !
Any IDEAS ?

Take off the plastic trim piece (dont know a better way to describe it) Find the solenoid and loosen the screws just enough to move it. Move the solenoid away from the latch. Give it a test run. If you have a fold down rear seat, you might want to fold it down prior to starting the adjustment. If it alls go wrong you can crawl in and readjust the solenoid's position. You might try adjusting the latch also. I played with it for ~20 mins and it's ok now. My interior release stopped working first then the remote stopped working, just like yours. HTH .... Mark

You got me in the correct direction
I loosened the lattch holder [2 torqux ] pushed down 1/4 " and retightened everything works !!!!
