Judge, sorry to hear of your employment travails.

I talked with Terry regarding a permanent subframe fix for my car and he presented 2 options.

1. Send him a subframe and he will repair for $70-80.
2. Get the car to him, he does the R&R for about $200.

Only problem with (2) is that his shop is full right now - no hoist is available to drop the subframe. So I'm gonna wait until the shop clears and make the run across the state. The wait isn't that bad since it's winter anyway....

I've been Aussie barless for awhile also.

When I see the damage that was done, it becomes apparant the only way to fix it right is by dropping the subframe and welding a heavy duty bracket assembly on.

I have access to a nice shop with a lift (but no welder.) Probably tackle this over the holidays, drop the subframe, work up a bracket design, and have my welder come in and weld it.

This experience is an excellent example that a modification must be looked at in its totality. Similiar to throwing a 12# boost turbo on an engine (such as ours) that don't have the internals for it. Somethings gotta give sooner or later.
