I admit I don't know any thing about car audio. What i do know is i need better. I have a '98 Blauplunkt head unit and panisonic two way speakers in all the doors. I would like to get a better system. I like my head unit cause it looks like a stock unit and it has deceint sound.
What I would like to know is what should I upgrade first?...Second?...What can wait?...What can I do with out?...I dont know any thing about amps and subs, so if you start spuing model names and numbers your gunna lose me b4 you begin. Also I'm on a budget so the $3000 system wont happen all at once eithor.
I think I would like to go for speakers first. From what I have gathered this is what I should go for...replace the front door speakers with some components and a x-over. Leave the rear doors and get a amp and sub for the trunk.

So any one who would like to help me out with links or opinions or whatever, please do so here or email me at:

Depends on what you want, Sound Quality or Just loud

Sound Quality lets see
Dynaudio components

then a
Labamba PB seiries sub

Search the audio forums with the search function and you will get plenty of info on these 2 products.
(don't have a recomendation for an amp right now)

I'd suggest getting a 4ch amp, some components for up front, and a single 10" or 12" in the trunk. It definately sounds like you're on the right track.

Use the front channels of the 4ch amp to power the components, and bridge the amp's rear channels to the sub. Just run your rear speakers off of your HU. It's a fairly simple setup, and the install is not difficult. You could probably stay below $500-600 and still have some quality equipment. Post your budget if you'd like some specific suggestions and where to get them.

If i were you, I would buy a guys Sony C90 which is almost brand new (one of teh best DAC sections available). Then, buy some used Mcintosh, Arc Audio, Brax, etc etc....

speakers: I see lots of Dyna systems, Focal, etc for sale.

Subs: yeah, new Lambda PB series, and an Elements Enclosure ( A lil expensive, but its cool looking and different) check mine out here: my stuff

As soon as you buy new, you loose 50% of the value, and most probably you will end up upgrading anyway!
