Depends on the milage for that amount of time. If it's 36,000 miles or more then yes it's worth it. My second transmission rebuild cost $2700 so you do the math. Also notice I said "second"...

the pricing on ford esp is negotiable. that sounds like too much. i paid $1200 for 4/48 when i bought my svt this past february. id get it though, all you need is one tranny problem and you're toast. also, what deductible, if any, are they offering u? mine's $50.

My car is getting it's trans replaced right now, on Ford's dime. I got my Contour in '98 with 23,000 miles on the odo. and I added the 10 yr/100k mile ESP at that time. With 88,000 miles on the car I still have some miles left on the warranty. With a water pump and an ATX taken care of, I've more than broke even. The ESP is worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a while.

a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty? Wow, when I wents down to gets prices for my esp warranty, I was quoted for additional 3 yr/36 thousand mile warranty at 1200.00 Was told you couldnt gets over a 7 year 70,000 mile warranty. The 1200.00 was with a 100.00 deduct. my 99 has 34,000 miles on it and it expires in Dec... So I needs to gets of the ball and gets one.

forgot to add that the 4/48 warranty i got was in addition to the current mileage of 37k. so im covered for 4 years or 48k miles from this past february.

try down's ford: http://www.downsford.com/esp/index.htm we bought our Base care from them via the web and saved quite a bit over the Ford ESP on line site and other local dealers. negotiate the price too!

Cost me $1800 for Premium Care 6/75 w/$50 ded. on a NEW CAR.
For 3/36 should cost you $900 or less.
