Well I did it w/ the Contour. So I know what to expect, in NY registration lasts for two years, I would need to pay a little to transfer cars.

Nothings terminal mang, keep the tour , buy a cover and park it - the focus's (foci) arn't that bad and will out turn any tour/misty 4sure. If theres any probs the fact that Ford still owns it (lease) they will fix it along with a rental - just save your money and fix or sell off your tour, don't trade it in - you'll get reamed , I test drove a couple and they handle great - get the S2, comes with ( i think ) 7 speaker sterio different wheels a tight grey/silver color along w/diff seats and other small accents for only 1500 more. ... but KEEP THE CONTOUR!!

Well the Ford dealer I just dealt with is not to excited about dealin. I looked at the numbers and he is running a FULL GROSS deal on a Focus. Then he tries to claim that the he can't take much off.

I need to check out bigger dealers.

He was also not going to give me a DIME for the Tour.

I dont know what to do anymore, I dont have 2400 bucks to fix my car, and the selling dealer wont help me.

I would find a way to get the money.. It will be a lot cheaper in the end. If you go over the mileage or there is something on the car they don't like when your lease is up....you will be charged out the a**. For the record the stock audio on a Focus is pretty damn good! I had a 2001 as a loaner while my SVT was in the shop.

Is there a cheaper place you could go to get a rebuilt or a junkyard (that you can trust at least a little) that would put in a used one from a wreck?

I have my uncle looking in to it for me. He said what I MAY want to do is if I get a Focus keep the Contour out of the deal, and find a junk yard tranny to put in. Then try and sell it privatly.

Here is the LOUSY part it died at school, so I need to have it towed home 50 miles. OUCH!
