How many miles on the car? Have you received a 2nd or 3rd opinion?

41,200 miles on the car, and no -- no 2nd or 3rd opinions yet. Would get expensive quickly having it toted all over town to other shops.

Folks, I've read every entry of this thread and at least one prior thread from last year and with only a few exceptions, low oil level and high rpms have been the culprits for the damage to these engines. High cornering forces only exacerbates the problem of having a low oil level because obviously if the engine is in the car sideways, your oil pickup is in jeopardy of running dry if all the oil is sloshing away from it. Add high rpms and what oil is in the sump is going to be up in the top of the engine and your pump will be sucking air in no time. I'm glad I read the posts about keeping the level above the full mark although I've always thought that would do more harm than good especially if the engine doesn't have a windage tray. I hope everyone gets their problems sorted out with Ford. In the meantime, keep checking your oil levels! High revving engines like the Duratec should have a larger capacity sump but for now all we can do is keep the ones we have full. smile

I suggest you guys contact a lawyer about a contingency-fee class-action suit against Ford. This is ridiculous. Don't think for one millisecond that Ford isn't aware of this problem and the fact that they're culpable. They are. I guarantee it.

I hate you wink

I'd hate to think how many high-priced evil lawyers Ford has! They probably drop to the depths of hell at night to drink tea with Saddam Hussein and Satan himself.

I'd like to see someone take them to court, but I can't since I don't have the money to cover myself incase I loose.
