I was replacing the front brake pads the other day when I noticed the tranny case (on the driver side) resting on the lower frame. It is actually rubbing on the frame. I also noticed the CV boot resting on the frame. It seems like the entire engine has dropped. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I appreciate any help.

you probably need new motor mounts, and maybe tranny mount too. upgrade to the front svt motor mount (yeah it'll fit with a little work).

Sounds like a motor mount or 2 has worn out.

There should be about 2 -3" of space between the frame and the ATX.
Check all your mounts.
Sounds like one or a few are worn out and possibly broken.

And you didn't FEEL this ???

I just installed a rear motor mount tonight, and while I was crawling around on my back under the car, I checked the clearance between the transmission (MTX) and the frame on the driver's side. I only have about 1/4 inch of clearance. It looks like I'll be replacing more mounts. I had noticed that the engine/transmission was riding low in both the front and rear mounts.

Does anyone know how to check the two fender mounts to determine which, either, or both, are worn?

Thanks for the help. I replaced the front and rear motor mounts. What a difference. I don't know what I would do without CEG.

I just replaced the front mount on the Mystique mtx, having replaced the rear mount a few days ago. The car is so much smoother and quieter. However, I still have less than 1/2 inch of clearance between the transmission and the frame. I removed the driver's side mount and inspected it. It looks good. How much clearance do you now have, after replacing the front and rear?
