Well first off I need some new tires and I was thinking about getting the Dunlop SP5000.....comments welcomed. I would like a tire with less road noise and these is my winter car also.

Secondly, How much are CV Joints for our cars and how much to put them in?

Third I was thinking about new suspension, I know Cobra R lowered his with new suspension. What does this lowering consist of and what kind of prices for each part etc etc

I guess I am pretty much wondering before hand how much this costs before I start putting any serious thought in to.

thanks

The SP5000 are good but there are some better tires out there. I'm running the Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's and in my opinion they are the best for performance dry and wet traction. They suck in the snow.

Not sure about CV joints. Try here for part pricing:
Parts

As for the suspension. Most are running konis and eibachs, check with corey on pricing. CobraR is running the BAT struts and eibach springs. Right now BAT is liquidating their ST200 Struts, 4 for $149 (THATS FOR ALL FOUR TOTAL), I got in early and got the struts for $100, the total came to $120, all four, shipped to my house in MA. I'll probably get the eibach springs for $190. Some people have bought the Roush springs but they have a constant spring rate (which means they don't have a progressive compression or rebound).

iirc, that's a tie rod end issue.

as far as the suspension - i suggest koni and eibach's. it's what i have in my car and i love them. with the koni, you can adjust the stiffness....so when you go auto-x'ing with Pat, you can set them to 3/4 stiffness and when driving around these god awful roads of MA, you can set them to 1/4-1/2 stiffness.

lowers the car just right - or if you want an extra low ride, go with H&R springs. They lower more than the Eibach's...or then again....go with Ground Control Coilover Springs and Koni Struts. Most likely my next suspension mod.

i am using SP5000s and i think they are very good tires, but i liked my Dunlop W-10s better (or maybe it was the 7.5" wheel width on the GL? ) the W-10s were DEADLY in the snow..as in, you might die! i can't comment on the SP5000s since they won't see snow...

I think the 5000's due quite well in the snow. They came stock on my P5. Last year they did great in the snow. No complaints. I like their performance in the summer as well.
