Amen, man. Before I even BOUGHT my 'tour, I tried out the factory CD deck.. and immediately had to administer the Heimlich to it to rescue the disc. A month later I bought a Kenwood 316 single-disc player and wired up a deck harness adapter. I did learn the hard way you can't bypass the amp, but you can live with it. Just be sure to wire the amp and power antenna leads to each other and to the antenna/amp lead (single) on the adapter.

P.S.: If your old deck give you too much hell, don't try smashing it to the ground and jumping up and down on it. It'll just smile and stick its tongue out at you.
