Folks. Tonight, Friday, driving on in city on Ashland near Montrose, I got broadsided by a car coming from a side street. The "scenic" bushes in the median blocked the view of my car! I pulled to inside lane, but it was too late. I was lucky I didn't hit a parked car. Guy didn't run off and we exchanged info and filed a police report. He was in a 85 Cavalier and his car was beat up already, and it had it's light off, too. I am OK, but my car is smashed in the two drivers side doors. I can't open them, and I have to climb over the console. The B pillar looks bent,  I will get it looked at by State Farm and see what will happen. I can't say if it is totaled, but it looks worse than the damage to Dan P's car!  I will try to get e pics of it and post. TOM

Damn sorry to hear that man. Glad to hear that you're OK though. What time did it happen, I just got back from the lake about an hour ago.

It was at 8:30 last night, and lucky the cr stopped fine, ntot hitting a pole, parked car, or person. I got two witness's names and #'s, too. I'm worried the B (center) piller is bent and would be too $$$ to fix.  If totaled, I may get a cheaper car for a year, like a 97 Zetec Tour? Or, my cousin has his old Sentra SE-R just sitting and I have dibs on it.

Yeah that is what matters, you can replace a car. On a lighter note, get a older Zetec MTX and trade with me.

damn sorry to hear about the accident. good to know that you are ok. it sounds like they will total the car. why not get a early V6 5 speed. everyone knows they are the best.

If totaled I'll try a few things: 1. Cousin's husband still has his '91 Sentra SE-R 5 sp., may sell to me. 2. May go back to a 96-7 Tour with the seats I like and keep through winter, then get a Mazda 6 in spring. The cars' B post is bent on the bottom, don't know how much it will cost. Casr took a hit and I have no back pains, so I swear by these car's structures!  I go in for estimates Monday, for now I have a Grand Prix rental. No, not the GT, the SE with the 3400 V6.
