Just a smoother idle with the plugs and wires. Mobil 1 is great but why 10w30? The manual calls for 5w30.

hector I would of thought your 2000 would call for 5W20 cause I thought it was in 2000 that ford switched to 5w20 to give then a few tenths of a MPH more per vechicle to make them lok better in the gov reports. I know my sister's focus which is a 2000 says 5w20 and my room mates truck says 5w20

My mom has a 2000 Focus ZTS it calls for 5w30, my dads 2002 ZX3 calls for 5w20

they must of forgot to put the updated page in it... cause in both manuals it is a sticker stuck over the page about it.

2003 Subaru WRX some mods Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem. aka ZetecRacing

I've been told this too, that older engines should use 10W30, but I don't think it's true unless your engine is genuinely wearing out. The bearing tolerances, if like new, are too small for 10W30. Some people here -- mainly duratec guys, I think, but still -- report noises in the engine when trying to use 10W30 that go away when switching back.

ExDelayed in answer to your question regarding the NGK Plug part number it is PTR5A-13 (Stock No.2467) they are Laser Platinum Spark plugs. Trust you will find the info useful.
