Are you going to reuse the old hydraulic lifters with new cams? Shouldn't one switch to solid lifters... and then spend hours adjusting their thickness just right?
I'm told that cams and lifters "wear into" each other and that even just moving hydraulic lifters around between one hole and another, with the same camshaft, can risk creating a spot where it wears through the case-hardening.
