95 ft/lbs is WAY to much for that size stud, no matter what alloy of steel they are made of.

That much torque would impart too much stretch into the stud and would casue the stud to work harden after torquing making it brittle and susceptable to stress cracks or shearing.


The studs don't last forever, and using an impact wrench is the best way to destroy a stud or any fastener for that matter. There is a tool called a breaker bar that is designed for removing tight fasteners.
