Hi,

I just replaced front and rear rotors and pads (thanks BAT)on my 99 SVT. I never opened the system, but pushing back the caliper pistons must have introduced some air the system. So I bled the front and rear until there were no more bubbles, but it's still kinda soft. It takes one pump to get a normal high pedal. My question is do I need to do anything special for the ABS, like bleeding with the ignition on (pump energized) or car running?

Thanks

Lou

Lou..give your brakes a week or so to bed in. The peddle will gradually firm up. If after a week or 1 tank of fuel it still feels soft, then rebleed. Push like hell for the front brakes, but only a little hard on the back ones or you'll activate the proportioning valve and shut off the rear brakes...loosing the bleading effect!

Bet you put the caliper springs on wrong!

Are the tops pushing against the anchor plate? If not, try again!

Bing!!

Lance, you nailed it. I checked the springs and the top hoops were on the inside of the caliper bracket, not the outside. All fixed now!

Amazing that difference little thing made..... :-)

Lou

good brakes again....
