man, i love these sarcasm threads....

but anyone ever think about the fact that (some) anti-seize has lots of lead in it?

of course you are getting the most miniscule amount in there, so it shouldn't effect the cat, but just wanted to throw in my 2c inflamatory match! eek laugh

BTW, i always use anti-seize and a torque-w(r)ench on my plugs.

ROTFLAO torque-wench. i love it.
i need me one of them sh!ts.

Please: put something meaningful in your post subject! NOT "please readme!".

"your" is possessive, "you're" is the conjunction that is short for "you are", "there" is for "the dictionary is over THERE", "their" is the possessive one, and "they're" is a conjunction that is short for "they are". have a nice day

Quote:::There is an additional reason you should never use anti seize on spark plugs. The torque spec. given by Ford is a
dry torque. Applying anti seize to spark plug threads lubricates them and throws off your torque reading. My
father has been working on aluminium engines since the mid-sixties to present and he NEVER uses anti seize. If
you use a good quality torque wrench and set it properly you will not require anti seize. 3 spark plug changes, no
anti seize and no problems here.

Read other antiseize post! Ya baby! Ya! Stick your torque wrench (well you know where to stick it! Ya baby!

Flame me baby, YA!!!!! laugh

How many times are you gonna keep posting the same stuff in more than one forum?

Now, lets settle this once and for all.

Get some of your own ideas #1. Instead of pretending you are a know it all because you found an opinion in another post, formulate some of your own thoughts.

#2, re-read my post. Never did I tell you to "learn" to use a torque wrench, like you state in your other post. I simply asked if you had heard of a torque wrench.

#3. Ever think that maybe I was already aware of the fact that anti-sieze might affect the torque specs of the plugs, and I compensate for that when I torque my plugs.?

Now, stop acting like a spoiled brat because someone told you something you don't like. Nobody told this guy to "check the FAQ, looser". Nobody belittled him. Nobody acted out of turn. MAybe you need to chill out, and then you will come back with a more logical post, rather than your tyrate. IF you wanna have a decent discussion about this, I'm all for it. But if you want a flame war, that my friend, will do nothing.

T-RedSVT! Lets face it you feel stupid because someone who is not a mechanic and just a weekend hobby/want to know more about cars guy set you straight. Your quote to a relative Newbie T-RedSVT quote:

"""""/////Ever hear of a torque wrench??\\\""

I am sure
Silver Bullit wants you to tell him to just "Just use a Torque wrench"

WITHOUT TELLING HIM NOT TO OVERTORQUE THE PLUGS USING ANTI-SEIZE. YOU ASSUMED THIS GUY/GAL KNEW THAT HE HAS TO UNDERTORQUE BASED ON DRY SPEC TORQUE!!!!

So don't get mad at me for caring about accurate information and protecting other peoples rides from people like you giving half/truths. I know, I should respect the fact that you are so full of yourself that you can't admit when your wrong, But I don't!!!

Holy crap! I've always torqued my spark plugs to the dry spec, even when using anti-seize! Don't mind me, I'm just gonna run out and pull all my plugs and retorque them! It's the end of the world!

Back in Hazard County, the Duke boys realized that their spark plugs had seized since not everyone uses NGK spark plugs...

You do realize that I was mocking you, correct? Honestly, what you've been posting in this thread is absolutely stupid. Hence the need for the application of this:
