Kinda off topic...sorry.
The WRX has a BOV, correct?
I'm trying to remember...haven't seen under his hood in a long time (he's at school in AZ).
I helped my bro install the AEM intake on his WRX. When you shift under boost you'll hear a "poof" rather than a "psst." Sounds good. Anyway, I'm just trying to recollect whether Subaru set up their turbo correctly.

In actuallity, the Subaru, and for the most part, all factory torbocharged cars run a Bypass Valve, essentially the same thing as a BOV except, like I said earlier, it routes the pressurized air after the compressor, back to the intake in front of the compressor, thus creating a kind of loop.

thanks. i knew in concept that a blow of valve lets out the pressurized air between shifts or when ever the throttle is released. however, i said i keep hearing it on pretty crappily modded cars that i highly doubt have a turbo. it might be the mod with the vaccum(sp?) hose or somehing else stupid like that that im hearing. oh well.
