Yesterday, my car lost its AC and heat, then started to redline (overheat). I took it to the shop this morning and they said they need to replace the water pump and thermostat to the tune of $574! Seems a little steep to me...is this reasonable?
also, is this a typical problem....among the tons I've had with my ford contour SE V6, manual transmission, with 80k on it?!
