You should put some of that chrome trim around all the edges of you hood so it matches all the other things on your car that "open".........NOT!!!!!!
Dude take that crap off.You have a $300(?) front bumper and $10 wheel covers, come on you seriously cant think that looks good.
When I see the things people do to cars it drives me nuts.

In reply to:

But the first "no-cost" mod you could do, seriously, is pry off those faky wheel covers. Those things bug me as much as a comb-over.

LOL

Damn you guys are mean. Hey man, Do whatever you can on whatever budget you can. I think I was the only one that read when you posted, "Don't laugh at the hubs".

I'm trying to picture the car with black bumpers. I think it doesnt look too bad right now, i kinda like the black and red scheme you have going.

They do sell T-red at AZ. Just go down and look, if they don't have it they'll order it. Check my recent 2 photo post in Pics and photos titled ' couple pics of my tour'.... big a$$ pic warning' look at my grill ring, that's the t-red from auto zone. Paint scratch wants an arm and a leg to paint match and the stupid little $10 touch up bottles at the dealership are a complete rip off. So for me this was the only sensible option.

Glad to see you got some pics up. I want to see some front shots, send me the pics when you have taken front and both sides to pre98@trudellbio.com

People, you go a had and dis his car. I know what it is like to have no money, hell I am still there. its been 2 yrs sense I have driven my car with a painted bumper and sometimes a bumper at all. you going to make fun of my car?

Hubcaps, well they are my cup of tea. I agree I dont like the ones that fake the brakes in the hub caps. Go get some new ones if you have a chance.

Chrome strip, not my thing. but I used to really like it, I grew out of it. dont do with the people on the board tell you to do. realize most people on here are what should I say 27yr and up. or atleast the ones that knock other peoples cars. do what you like, your the one who bought the car. I would hate to see you make payments on a car that you made for everyone else.

Again e-mail me pics!!!

Honestly your car would be more aesthetically pleasing without the chrome strips. You might actually be bettter off going with the steelies than the hubcaps. Just an idea.

bumper looks good.

definately go with steelies. just my opinion, but i'd go with springs/coilovers something to lower the car before i would get wheels, but thats just me...i hate when people get nice wheel, and there car looks like a 4x4.

now on to another subject....
i have a serious problem with door guard trim...i think its the worst!!

why can't people just put it on the door edges?
I'm not a fan of that either, but at least thats what it's for "door edge trim" it protects the edge of the door in case you bang it into anything right?

so why do people put it on the gas door, the trunk, the hood, the wheel well, and even the hinged edge of the door....I've been driving for almost 10yrs and I've never bang my gas door or trunk on anything.
I've also see people put it on the door edge, but run it all the way up to the roof??? why??

so PLEASE!!! at least take off the trim on the gas door, and the hinged edge of the door!!

its not bashing....its constructive criticism

For the record: I'm 36. If that means my opinion means nothing, so be it. It is JMHO, and the kid can do what he wants with it. At one time, I was a teenager with a VW beetle that I wanted more than anything to stick a whale-tail on. Thank God I couldn't afford it, then.

I can't speak for others, but I didn't "Dis" the kid's car.

If you have no money, don't waste it on mods that make your car look worse.

Micah's bumper was a good "investment."

Removing the hubcaps and the "chrome" trim cost nothing, and might even free up vital resources for other uses (re, recycling.) These would also be good investments.

If I was broke and didn't have any money, I'd be leaving the car ALL stock and instead be trying to save up for a down payment on a house or somethin instead! Especially since interest rates are really LOWWWW right now! But, if I absolutely HAD to have my car all modded and I wanted that MORE than a house, then I'd still keep the car all stock looking until I had enough money saved (IN THE BANK) to do all the aesthetic mods all AT THE SAME TIME. It's just because the other day I seen a Honda Civic on the freeway with a big a$$ Indy-500 wing, and some crazy primered ground effects on it, fart can exhaust, and clear cornerz with steelies, and I said, hahahahahaha!!! How funny looking. I wonder if he knew how it really looked from a distance on the outside. Just my opinion, but isn't the point of doing all these mods, to make your car look nice? But then I see my friends spend 2 years driving their cars around while they are 'in the works', then when they get the car all done, they drive it for a few months and then just wind up selling it anyways. ??? Crazy. Spend 2 years showing off the rough draft, and then a few months of final product? So I try to tell them, why not save it in the bank first, and then take two weeks off to install everything all at once (if you still even have the car by then)?
