I was driving in to work early this morning and when I turned on my high beams they stayed on for a second and then went out. Nothing would turn them back on and now when I drive with my head lights off the high beam light on the dash flashes. I do have daytime running lights but since the high beams blew they do not work since they are part of them.
Please help me, I cannot afford to take this to the dealer to fix.

Anyone have a clue as to why this happened? HELP!!!

were they aftermarket? maybe the wiring harness melted

No they were not. I checked my wiring harness as well. It was just like someone turned them off or a fuse blew. And yes I did check my fuses and relays.

Peter, one of the bulbs may be blown. This happened to my SVT when I flicked the headlights on, one evening last month. The high beam indicator flashes to give you notice that one of your bulbs or maybe both are blown. In my case, it was the driver's side bulb was toast.

Thanks Chris!  That's all it was. Both bulbs were blown, which is a bit strange. I replaced them this morning and it all works again .

If your bulbs go out, wouldn't the bulbs themselves be the first thing you check?

I dunno. In the old days, sure. But today my first thought would be to try to reboot the car....

No its Innisfil.
I have never had both bulbs go out at the same time. On all the other cars I have owned one bulb goes out before the other. And I have never seen the high beam light flash like it did. Maybe I should have gone out and bought 2 new bulbs and replaced them and not post this but I was worried because I have never seen this happen before.
