You've got be kidding... 2700 RPM at WOT?? If you have your foot on the floor your tranny should shift around 6K RPM. The RPMs drop 1-2K on each shift, but NOT to 2700 RPM at WOT.
The 100-150 RPM change your feeling is probably the torque converter lock up. Are you trying this with the OD turned off?
