Guy's I've posted about this many times and I always get flamed over it. I have had the car checked from top to bottom and everything is fine. I also have many years experiance driving several different race cars and was pretty successfull so my driving skills are just fine thank you. I have met 3 people here with SVT's and compaired performance with them. They run just the same as mine. No its not something wrong with the car, well yeah it is its just SLOW. I could'nt stand it any longer so I gave the car to my wife. Now she's bitching about the lack of power all the time. I think this car is going to find a new home soon, if I can get enough out of it to pay it off. I'm probably stuck with it. I own 3 other cars as well and the SVT can not touch them either. Such a shame, I really do like the car other than the power problem. I love the way it looks I love the way it drives and handles but I can not tolerate the pathetic power this thing has any longer. If I can not recoupe my money I will be forced to do something drastic.

sounds to me like you just don't like your svt or something...since everything can beat it and its the slowest car ever(that's how you make it sound anyway)....either your car is f'ed or you can't drive it...i gaurantee i can beat a damn camry,and whatever else you seem to put up against it that shouldn't but somehow does seem to beat yours.....if you don't like your car fine you should sell it...but i don't have a lack of power in mine....and now your wife thinks its slow too....yall must be smoking something...because apparently mine,and most everyone else's svt's on here,don't suffer from this absolute lack of power that yours mysteriously does....

*edit* not true that tiburons are slow, and neither is the later V6 camry 5spd with 194HP and gobs of torque**
My SVT in 99 with a full stereo mind you would run about the same in 1st as a 99 tiburon that a buddy of mine had. He had a nice cold air intake, but I could only just pull on him a little bit at the top of 2nd gear. I could pull on him better the faster we went, but it made it clear that the tiburon was quick.
The SVT stock is quick, but not fast. It is a 4 door sedan and in its class it is pretty fast.
Anyway, there are many options out there now to make it run a lot faster than the average competition.
Don't feel bad about it, just realize that it is progress and that manufacturers are always improving their cars. In two years think how many basic cars will perform at/above the level of your loaded SVT.
Then get the mod bug and go to work if you still want to compete!

Really! What give you that idea? Reread my post! I clearly stated what I like and do not like about the car, no mystery there. Why are you second geussing my feelings about the car? No where did I state that every car on the road could beat it, nor did I say it was the slowest car on the planet. Please dont try to put words in my mouth. The car is not f'ed as you put it. Again reread my post for the details. Why do you qeustion my driving abilities? Do you think I'm 16 and this is my first car? I'm glad I have your permission to sell something that I own! Thank you. Yeah my wife thinks so too. She's a gearhead also, SO WHAT! Do we need your permission for that as well? I'm glad that you have all the power you need as every good man should know his limitations. I on the other hand am not satisfied and am left wanting more power. I only stated MY experiance with the SVT, other people ARE complaining about it as well, so I'm not alone! Theres NO need to get MAD at me because YOU dont like what I'm experiancing with my SVT. Its my problem not yours, so settle down.

I agree with everything you say, except about the SVT being quick but not fast. I feel the the car is fast, Hell I'm happy with 145 MPH! However the car is not quick enough for me, it does not accelerate at a rate that I like and that is because of the lack of torque. That will have to change if I'm to keep this car.

i am not mad about your posts,so don't tell me to settle down....i could care less about you or your car..i'm just sick of hearing you bitch about it...if you don't like it sell it and stf up....i am not giving you permission to sell it,i just said you should sell it since you have only negative comments to say about it,that's all...for all i care you can go drive it off a cliff or something...
we're just trying to tell you that we don't get smoked by the crap you say smokes you is all...i could care less about your driving skills either..but apparently you cant drive if your getting smoked by camry's...i don't know wtf you are talking about people on here saying their cars are smoking ss camaro's and v8 mustangs...where are you getting this info from...i ve never read this on here....
i also never said my car was the fastest in the world either..an svt surely isn't that...but it certainly is a quick car for its class,and it outhandles alot of cars costing twice as much...an svt wasn't intended as a drag car...it is an all around performer...looks good,is fairly quick,and handles like a dream...so i don't see your point at all....i didn't buy mine to be a fast car (i have a 12 second mustang to do that)i bought it because it is a very good car,it is a blast to drive,and it is an awesome daily driver...with quite enough power for its intended use...
so do us all a favor and sell it,so we don't have to hear you crying about how slow and terrible it is...
