Not true.
*edit* not true that tiburons are slow, and neither is the later V6 camry 5spd with 194HP and gobs of torque**
My SVT in 99 with a full stereo mind you would run about the same in 1st as a 99 tiburon that a buddy of mine had. He had a nice cold air intake, but I could only just pull on him a little bit at the top of 2nd gear. I could pull on him better the faster we went, but it made it clear that the tiburon was quick.
The SVT stock is quick, but not fast. It is a 4 door sedan and in its class it is pretty fast.
Anyway, there are many options out there now to make it run a lot faster than the average competition.
Don't feel bad about it, just realize that it is progress and that manufacturers are always improving their cars. In two years think how many basic cars will perform at/above the level of your loaded SVT.
Then get the mod bug and go to work if you still want to compete!
