Route 47 by any chance? South of Morris (which is an hour and a half north of Champaign), there's NOTHING except for the odd town, which are few and far between. I'll wait for a semi that wants to go 70 to pass me, then let him run radar; I make great time this way. North of Yorkville it isn't so hot; lots of towns all the way to the Wisconsin border. The only part of 47 I haven't driven is between Mahamout and Champaign--I always get on/off I-74...

I often drive 47 in Illinois from I-80 to Dwight. And I make sure to NEVER speed on that stretch, because there are always cops there, looking for people goign even 5 over.

The slow passes to make sure no cops is a good one. I use that a lot. Blending in is very good too. I've also been meaning to get a radar detector, but I dont have enough money to get one that acctually works well.
