I got a Duratech too. I probably get 230 miles tops on a full tank of premium (92) in city driving. On the all freeway I've made it past 300. But yeah, you are getting crap for mileage. BTW, it doesn't bother me, but people will probably get pissed at you for cussing in the topic part of a post.

dang you both are getting shitty gas mileage. I have the duratec and get about 270 miles city...340 highway. I am usually around 260-290 in the city.

Perhaps the fact that mine is a 95 with almost 80k is the difference? What are we doing wrong?

both of your cars have major problems, my car has 75k on it and I still get 280 on a tank easily. Have your plugs and wires ever been changed? Something is wrong if you only get 230 miles on a 15 gallon tank. Something is majorly fuckedd up if you are getting 180 that is 12 MPG!!!!!!

I've never changed my plugs, assuming those are spark plugs....You mean I can get more than 250 miles per tank???

If you have never changed your plugs (yes spark plugs) and have 80k miles they most likely need to be changed. ford touts that they can go 100k and I just changed mine at 75. The car seems to run fine because you gradually lose your fuel economy. I changed my plugs and wires and gained back 2 mpg. It is a very simple DIY job. Many people think it is impossible to get at the back 3 plugs but it's quite easy. You will just need either a 9 inch extension or a 6 inch and a 3 inch together and a spark plug wrench. should take you less than an hour, maybe an hour if your a first timer, and the plugs will cost you 25 bucks. check the group buy forum for info on ford racing 9mm wires for 50 bucks which is the same as what you would pay at a parts store for shitty 7mm oem wires

good point, that is probably original too. I want to try cleaning out my UIM and the EGR system but I'm selling the car soon so I may not bother, the mileage is still good and I don't think it will make much of a difference
