This will be my 3rd winter with Blizzaks, and they probably still have 3 more winters left in them. I'm not sure what happened to your friend. I have never had any trouble with mine. I don't drive to spirited in the winter because the conditions usually don't allow it. We may not get a lot of snow anymore but ice is also a nasty thing to deal with. I put the snows on at the begining of November and take them off in early April. Once the weather is no longer consistantly under 10C I go back to the summer tires, otherwise the Blizzaks would melt.
