if he blew the differential, wouldn't it make a terrible grinding noise and go absolutely nowhere?

Well it was nice meeting you too and thankd for the info 91SHO helps a little bit. I guess I need to look at it and have some hands on too see exactly what it was.

At least with the sho, a blown diff pin will still let you drive fine for alittle bit, till the transmission grinds to a halt. I wish I was closer to you, I'd come down and check her out.

If its not grinding now, and if it didn't make a loud noise when it happend, I'd guess that you broke a shifter cable and were lucky enough to do it when you were in between 1st and 2nd and ended up in neutral.

Well I got a call today from Rodman and well this is what the guy said: He said something about a planetary in my transmission is broken and that there is metal in my oil and it this part has to be replaced and not fixed he also mentioned that I would need a clutch and pressure plate. After explaining it would be $2600 and 300 for the clutch part he then told me i need tires. Nothing like making me feel better. So with that said....it is now time to move on to plan B, somwhere cheaper.

Feel free to chime in everyone

A broken input shaft would let you rev and not go anywhere. I think someone else said that as well. That must be it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking of, I could remeber what he called it though. Well here is the problem. The only way to tell is take apart the tranny or whatever so that will cost about 800 and change and if that isn't what's wrong then the other thing they said would cost 2600 sooooo if the 2600 was the case then I was going to have it done somewhere else. If they pull it apart then I am automatically paying them for that so that means no matter what it is I am going to have them fix it because it would cost even more to have it pulled apart then back together then apart again. So I have to be sure it is the input shaft.

thanks for the help......keep it coming
