Sorry to waste the bandwidth, but I
finally managed to replace my HO2S11 to remedy P1131:
- Put car up on ramps (mainly for insurance...All operations were done from above except as noted).
- Removed coil pack.
- Unplugged sensor.
- Put sensor socket on sensor, then 3/8" U-joint, then 3" extension, then 3/8" ratchet drive.
- Put cheater bar (16" long galvanized pipe) over handle of ratchet.
- Broke sensor loose! Glory Be!
- Started threading new sensor on by hand (this was far easier from beneath the car).
- Put socket, etc. back on, and torque sensor down.
- Plug sensor back in, reinstall coil pack, make sure no sockets left under hood.
- Reset the PCM.
- Drive with fingers crossed for the next few drive cycles!
I'll update the story once I know the CEL won't come back on... 'Til then, I'll be praying to the god of EEC-V...
