Well shoot, I just got my second ticket for 90+ in a 55. Pulled on to a highway and waited for traffic to open up, then took it up to about 105 or so (no other cars around except behind me). Turns out an undercover cop was behind a van that I merged a little ways in front of, he caught up with me easy because I took the very next offramp after I let off.
He was cool about it, unlike the officer from the first time...
So I'm wondering, do you guys have any tips or tricks to help you go with the flow easier? I just can't seem to avoid doing what I call "aggressive defensive driving." Sounds like an oxymoron I know, but I'm not out to hurt anyone or damage anyone's vehicle, I just like to go fast in general, and at the very least do 5mph over the speed limit and do stuff like pull up in the empty lane at stoplights.
Also, I make a trip on the interstate every week and just can't stop going fast on the twisties - the parts where cops would have an extremely hard time setting up speed traps - to have a good time and generally spice things up. Often times this means going 90-120... trust me I do realize this is still dangerous even though it doesn't really feel like it, and that's why I'm asking for tips. I mean, do you guys think "I can't do 'x' because my insurance rates would skyrocket" or ???
I did get lucky in retrospect though, being ticketed for 90 instead of 105-110...
