Do you have the two fan version, or do you have one fan that operates at two speeds?

Me too, and I'm trying to figure out how to tell the difference between low speed and high speed. (I know, one is faster than the other ), but without a reference point, I don't know how fast is fast and how slow is slow. I only hear one speed, and I think it is fast. On my last trip to the Ford dealer, they removed the resistor in the wiring harness, so I figure I'll only have high speed, no matter which relay is controlling it.I tried switching relays from my contour to my mystique, and vice versa, to check the condition of the relay, but everything is still the same....I guess I'm going to try using a multi-meter to see where the current is coming from and going to.

Re the two-speed fan setup; High speed is definitely noticeable from outside the vehicle. I've heard it up to 30 ft. away from the vehicle. You should be able to hear the difference when running ac or defroster. Low speed is barely noticeable.....my $.02

Then mine is definitely high speed. I can hear it from the outside, when I'm several yards away. And, I can hear and feel it when I'm inside the car, if the car is idleing. The sound is the same, whether the fan kicks on because of the a/c being engaged, or whether the fan kicks on because the temperature reaches a high level. This is further evidence that my low speed relay/fan/etc is not working, which explains why the temperature gauge goes to the L in normal before the fan ever kicks in.
