Poking under the hood of the wife's 98 Zetec, there is a hose right next to the battery (looks like a vacuum hose), to the left of it if you are standing in front of the car. I noticed the other end wasn't plugged into anything... so who knows if it somehow came off, or more than likely I pulled it off without knowing it. Can anyone tell me where the other end is suppose to go into? I can't find it at the moment.

TIA

Is it attatched to the battery tray? If so, I have one too, and it's not attatched to anything...I just assumed it was a drain hose or something...

Breather/overflow from transmission. Open end should sit on rear bat. hold-down clamp bolt and point down.

You wil have to remove the battery and you will see a side cover on the transaxle , black in colour. T he hose plugs into the top of the cover and the other end sits on the battery hold down bolt. This is the vent tube for the transaxle.
