I got my car back today with it's new used engine. Problems from the get go! When I was getting on the freeway the CEL came on and evertime you gas, it sounds like rushing air(cats maybe?). Then I went outside a couple of minutes ago and there is this giant puddle of pinkish brown fluid coming the back of the engine near the driver's side. I don't know if it's tranny fluid or power steering fluid. My God I have had nothing but problems with this f****** car and I have absolutly no more money. This car is my DOOM!!!

That fluid is probably from the trans based on your description of being on the driver side. Check the trans fluid level.

Well I checked the tranny fluid and to my horror it's about 41/2" above the fill line. Isn't that bad for the tranny and how do I get the extra out?

Check/top up all the fluids and have a 'chase' car incase,take it back!

Call the shop that did the work and tell them what you have found. Ask them if they think it is safe to drive or if they should send a tow truck. I'll bet they send a tow truck.

You can SUCK the fluid out the dipstick tube line. If you have a good vacuum pump and a bottle for brake jobs it will work
A turkey baster and a thin vinyl tube will do but will be messy and slow. I'd say some seals have been blown 'cuz of the overfill. That is the fault of the installer. If they didn't check it before they test drove it. One drive way too full can blow out some of the seals.

I believe that would be engine coolant with dexcool if its a pinkish brown fluid.

Took it back to the shop and it wasn't the transmission thank God! But it was some seal on the drive axle that was bad and it just ran down and was leaking off the transission. That itself is scary but better than it be the tranny. Now main concern is this psssssss sound every time i hit the gas. When you have the hood up it's sounds like it's coming from the little round thing at the top right corner of the engine and it sounds like, when you put a baseball card in your spokes on your bike. Nw I don't know if it's the cats because it passed smog just 3 days ago. Although it wasn't making the sound 3 days ago, hmmmmm? :rolleyes:
