OK, where in this pic do you see a BIG ORANGE goddamn plug? (This was My point exactly, doh)
I am not stupid, I know that the bulbs do need to be changed, and in order to do so they need to be a separate piece. (haven't you just contradicted your earlier post of "no need for stupid connectors" there?)

The pic you have is exactly what I was trying to tell people to buy. I have that exact same kit, though a bit different. As you can tell, there is no plug associated with the bulb.

The custom kits I was reffering to is what you saw in Antonio's hand, in which you have the bulb, THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE WIRES VIA BIG ORNAGE plug... In your pic, it is pretty obvious that there is no plug (What the hell are those two WHITE connectors then?)
As far as the OEM systems having a plug, this is totally out of scope, since we were discussing aftermarket kits anyway...
(Which use OEM philips ballast's,why is it out of scope, you were saying there is no need to have connectors,I pointed out that even OEM HID use connectors!)

READ the whole thread! This is what i was trying to say,Antonio was saying autolamps supply the kits with the philips connector on(The orange plug)they don't.
Christ this is hard work,WTF to you define as a connector!! The bulb in the picture has TWO connectors/plugs whatever you want to call them, just because it has a lead from the bulb to the connectors doesn't mean they are not connectors! The connector in Antonio's picture was from what looked like a philips ballast with the factory connector on-this is how philips make them, autolamps cut this off and install their own connectors. For it to be black like that i would guess he had a short somewhere(or water ingress) which caused a high voltage flash. Antonio was saying autolamps kits are Korean crap when this is simply NOT true.Philips don't have factories in Korea,ALL philips HID is made in Germany. In fact Antonio was blaming the philips component that you find on hundreds of cars.

Anything above 6000K is useless,go ahead and buy a 10000K system, you be able to see where you are going(these figures are bullshit anyway)
4100K WILL give the brightest output,6000K will give the best compromise of colour/output.To say there is no link between colour & output is bollocks!
Post up a pic of the the ballast with the burnt connector on Antonio and all will be able to see it is a philips component you are blaming.

Nice once did I blame the phillips ballast. I said the connector was the problem and YES Autolamps-online.com at one point and time USE to use that style of company. One thing I fail to realise is why in the hell you are so angry. I checked the web site and I seen that they switched to the new style connectors possibly due to hundreds of stories like mine. Next time before you go on a rampage read the post about x50 then respond.

Very good article

But the one question remains...how can we retrofit a projector lens into the stock contour light assembly?

nice once??what??do you mean NOT Once?!,can you spell?style of company?!do you mean CONNECTOR? It's a philips connector(note philips is spelt with one "l")that you are blaming, the connector you show is installed by philips at the facotory,by blaming the plug you are blamimg the whole assembly, the same as used on many OEM installations.Has it crossed your mind that maybe an installation problem was to blame or you had a faulty unit? I am not angry-just don't like people slating a company/calling their equipment Korean crap when it's not!
i think maybe it's time to lock this thread.......

You had to attack my spelling to get your lame ass point across...: rolleyes: Well the fact is that AUTOLAMPS-ONLINE.com has to modify the plug to accept the 9006 bulb. I bet you did not know that dumbass. In regards to faulty installation I doubt that because if there was no serious flaw in the plug design I don't think Philipâ??s would have changed their design.

You are also STILL missing the damn point. I never slammed Philip's. I slammed AUTOLAMPS-ONLINE.com. They don't produce there own kits. They buy them wholesale from an outside source (Korean). Just because the ballast says Philips does not mean a damn thing. Once again you need to do your research before you post.

What did Rodney King Say "Can't we all just get along?"

No Damnit!

I have absolutely nothing productive to say here except I want HID's and I want them cheap.

Oh yeah, and "IN BEFORE THE LOCK!!! "

warmonger

I want to thank you for ruining my goddamn thread with your relentless rants!

Why don't you try to contribute something to the original point of this thread, instead of talking smack about crap you don't even know about? Do you even own an HID kit? I am willing to venture a wild guess that you have not even seen one in person, let alone talk about them...

And another thing: Don't knock my brother Antonio! Both he and I are one of the most informed people on this site when it comes to HIDs, and both of us have had several different kits in our cars. Bet you did not know that either... Autolamps is a failed company whose only interest is making money. Cheap policy breeds garbage products!

Finally, you say this thread needs to get locked? The only thing that needs to get locked in this thread is YOU!!!

I SUGGEST YOU BUY SOME PROZAC!!

I am working on it as we speak. My lights should be finished in about a week or two. If there is enough enthusiasm, I am gonna make these for us!

Now that sounds like an idea. How would one go about doing this, just cut out the stock assembly and glue in a projector lens? Also where would be a good place to find sed lenses....junk yards?
