With the kind of voltage produced, and we are talking about up to 23K Volts here guys, the plugs can only aid in making something go wrong.

Should you decide to buy an HID kit, always makes sure that there are no plugs involved...

That looks like the plug off a standard philips-type HID ballast. I'm not sure why it failed, but I doubt the plug was at fault; there are hundreds of thousands of HID systems, including OEM that use that same plug. More likely, autolamp's custom 9006 base was the culprit.
