True cold air intakes get cold air from outside the engine bay. This is dense air that inproves performance. I think you may be grouping all of the aftermarket air intakes into the cold air category. Most of the benefit of an aftermarket air intake system on a contour is the NEW filter. Cone style filters posess a much greater ability to let air in. Less resistance and more area for the are to flow through. There are many combinations of filter and pipe available for the contour. KKM, BAT, SHO Shop, CTA.
