Well, if you aren't mechanically inclined, I wouldn't suggest doing that sort of thing yourself. I've done quite a few, however, I'm paid to do it.
I'ts not that complicated a procedure, but if its improperly done, it can cause more harm than good. That,and you need compressed air to blow out the metal shavings from tapping the cylinder head once you are done. Most people don't have compressors at home.
