As an "over 30 oldie" I've seen a lot of stuff like this with buddies and families. It is usaully blown over.
The "big flame war" ended with guys apologizing, so there is no "problem" that I see anymore.

Anyway, wait another month and maybe can try to get a meet in before winter. And remember, we had great turn out for "winter meets" last January and February. Kevin had 10-15 or so in March, so I don't think C-CEG is "over". No way!
