I have a 96 Contour Zetec and got the codes pulled on a CEL today. It came back P0171 To Lean Bank 1 / The haynes book points this fault code to the Oxygen Sensor. can someone help me possibly diagnose this code. Some things Ive done recently by looking at all the posts on he contour site are: Cleaned the MAF, which was coated with a black gunk, cleaned the TB with TB cleaner, replaced the Air filter. Plugs and wires were replaced 12 months ago at 80k. Now has 102k miles. Some of the symptoms are a slight hesitation when first accelerating, slight vibration and eratic idle (up & down) and I hear a hi pitched hissing sound but can't find where its coming from. Sounds like its around the air filter area. The shop that pulled the code says it could be a bad fuel injector ?? any help would be great.
