We're expecting TQ levels in the 250 ft.lb. range with the new engine in place. There is a dyno graph from our 3.6L Taurus SHO on our website (catalog was updated today, ready for download also) that'll show the estimation.

Will you be selling the stroker kit itself, or only as whole engine units....

I would be interested in getting just a stroker kit (crank, rods, pistons).

edit: just ran some quick calculations using 3.1415 for pi and it turns out you need to add roughly 14.25mm to the stroke (bring it from 79.5 to 93.75) in order to achieve 3.5L.... NICE

And if you calclate what it would take to get to 3.5L with just boring out the cylinders, then add on a stroket kit, it'll come to a 4.1L engine! Except if you're running 4.1L, you'll probably not be able to get enough air in to feed the engine with stock induction system (at least I don't think).

you would never be able to bore a 3.0L out to a 3.5L... i don't even think the cylinders walls have enough material to do it, then you sill need to allow some wall thickness or the heat would be too great... also remember theses blocks are aluminum, and too much heat is not hard to accomplish with aluminum thus leading to warpage.....

The Ford 500, Freestyle (formerly known as the Cross Trainer) and the '04 Windstar/Monterey will all use the the new, Cyclone V6. The 3.8L (when is the head gasket going to let go) dies. This engine (I beleieve) is 3.5L, 4 valve, DOHC with Variable Cam Timing. I'll see what I can find out about block/head compatiblitiy with Duratec.

We have not decided on "how" we're going to be offering the 3.5L at this point. At this time we're planning on a long block assembly (heads, cams and all) because this will be considered more or less, a race engine. I do not have any pricing available at this time, we will as soon as we start building up on the engine.

The 3.5L Engine (built) will be introduced to the market first, then we'll see about kits thereafter. At this point, it looks like a short or a long block will be the first to come out for the Contour. We whould start seeing some pricing come early December.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated!
